NBA Selection – Monday & Tuesday
With the new NBA season well underway, I’ll be taking a look at some picks that I think will come to fruition in the next coming days.
Suns to beat the Wizards
This young-look Phoenix Suns are on fine form at the moment, as they currently hold the top spot of the Western Conference. Meanwhile their counterparts are struggling to click as Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook seem to have individual performances that catch the eye, rather than as a 2-man partnership. I would go as far as saying that I would take the Suns at a maximum of -7.
Pelicans to beat the Mavericks
New Orleans have looked impressive with Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram coming to the forefront. I believe the Mavs will become a more competitive team when Kristaps Porzingis returns from Injury. Bully ball will be in effect on the early hours of Tuesday morning for the Pels.
Knicks to beat Hornets
The New York Knicks have put the whole NBA on notice, for not being the worst team this season. Julius Randle has been a commanding force on the court and has been backed up by Austin Rivers, RJ Barrett and rookie Obadiah Toppin. The Hornets have shown why they might make the playoffs this season, but I don’t think that Gordon Hayward will be a consistent star that they need in North Carolina. This is perhaps the closest game of the picks, where an explosive LaMelo Ball may start to pick up speed, as he became the youngest player to record a triple-double in the NBA, against the Hawks.
Nets to beat Nuggets
We still do not know as to why Kyrie Irving has been missing from recent games, but the Brooklyn nets looked unreal in their matchup against the 76ers, the other day. Caris LeVert and Jarrett Allen were back to showing people why they deserve to be starters for any team. The nuggets lost many key bench-players in the offseason, in addition to losing Michael Porter Jr to Covid protocols for another week. I believe you could cover the nets at a handicap of -6 for Wednesday mornings game.
